Xeomin

Is Xeomin® Better Than Botox®?

Before Botox®, surgery was the only way to treat expression lines and wrinkles. Today, you can choose between the original Botox® and several other neuromodulators, including Xeomin®. This new treatment works in a similar way but may have some advantages depending on your needs. View More Patient Results *Individual results may vary What are Xeomin® and Botox®? Xeomin® and Botox® are types of neuromodulators. They both use a compound called botulinum toxin to do their work. This compound acts on your facial nerves, limiting their signals to your facial muscles. As a result, muscles stop pulling on the skin and your wrinkles can relax. Xeomin® and Botox® are generally used to treat the same lines and wrinkles, including horizontal forehead lines, vertical creases between the brows, and crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes. Treating the facial muscles that cause these lines allows the rest of your face to move naturally.  Is Xeomin® Better Than Botox®? The primary difference between Xeomin® and Botox® is the accessory proteins they [...]

How Long Does Xeomin® Take To Work?

Neuromodulators, such as Botox®, are a popular anti-aging treatment to address even early signs of aging. Some patients, however, do not see the results they wish with Botox® or Dysport®. Xeomin® is the purest form of botulinum toxin A on the market, often treating those who do not see the results they want from other treatments more effectively.  What is Xeomin®? In the cosmetic world, Xeomin® is an injectable to improve moderate-to-severe frown lines around the eyebrows. The neuromodulator is made with XTRACT Technology™, purifying the molecule botulinum toxin A by removing unnecessary proteins. Removing unnecessary proteins makes Xeomin® more effective for some patients, and results can last nearly a month longer than other neuromodulators on the market.  How Long Does Xeomin® Take to Work? Xeomin results are not visible immediately. Most patients see results after three to seven days, depending on how their body processes the treatment. Results are long-lasting, some lasting over four months.  What Does Xeomin® Treat? The cosmetic community primarily uses Xeomin® to treat frown lines on the [...]

Xeomin® vs Botox®: Which Lasts Longer?

Xeomin® vs. Botox® are neurotoxins that work to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. Though they work in similar ways, the two treatments have their differences, and your Laser Skin Care Center provider will help you decide which is best for you. What are Neuromodulators? As we age, our skin naturally develops wrinkles and fine lines due to decreased collagen production and all of the facial muscle contractions that have occurred over time. Neuromodulators like Xeomin® and Botox® minimize the appearance of these signs of aging by relaxing the muscles that can cause wrinkles in areas such as the forehead and around the eyes. View More Patient Results *Individual results may vary How Do Xeomin® and Botox® Work? The active ingredient in both Botox® and Xeomin® is the neurotoxin botulinum. When injected underneath the skin, botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signals that are responsible for causing your muscles to contract. Without these signals, your muscles relax, reducing tension on the skin and allowing [...]

How Long Does Xeomin® Last?

With the discovery of botulinum toxin, many medical breakthroughs have allowed for treatments of neuromuscular diseases. In the past few decades, the toxin has been broken down into smaller doses to treat signs of aging in the cosmetic industry through Botox®. The most recent option for your anti-aging treatments is Xeomin®–a prescription medicine to improve moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows.  What is Xeomin®? Xeomin® is an FDA-approved neuromodulator to treat deep forehead lines. It is one of three popular botulinum toxin Type A cosmetic treatments to treat moderate-to-severe wrinkles.  Unlike Dysport® and Botox®, Xeomin® is made of pure botulinum toxin Type A, making it powerful but better for smaller treatment areas. Xeomin® is the best choice for those who have anti-bodies against Botox® and Dysport® wanting long-lasting results. How Does Xeomin® Work? The neurotoxin blocks the signals between the nerves and problematic muscles that cause wrinkles and lines. The lower dosage temporarily blocks the signals without hindering natural facial expressions, allowing you to enjoy fewer wrinkles with a smile. How Long [...]

Botox®, Xeomin®, or Dysport®: Which one is Right for Me

The neurotoxins, which include Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®, remain very popular as a successful, no-downtime method for treating difficult expression lines and wrinkles. At Laser Skin Care Center, we offer all three choices, letting us take advantage of each formula’s unique attributes to give you the best results.  View More Patient Results *Individual results may vary What are Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®? These three treatments fall under the category of neurotoxins. They do not cause any permanent changes to your nerves or muscles. However, they disrupt the signals between muscles and nerves. When injected into the facial muscles, they prevent these muscles from contracting.  The contractions of facial muscles, especially lifelong muscle contractions like smile and frown lines, can cause deep wrinkles and lines in the skin. By quieting the muscles creating these wrinkles, the neurotoxins (Botox®, Xeomin®, or Dysport®) allow the skin to smooth out and become more relaxed.  Injectables Consultations Available Request A Consultation [...]

Dysport® VS Xeomin®: What are the Differences?

Dysport® and Xeomin®, two neurotoxins that use the same active ingredient as Botox®, both reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They do have differences, and your provider will help you choose the right one for you. What are Dysport® and Xeomin®? Our faces develop expression lines as we age, the result of muscles under the skin making it fold and crease. Dysport® and Xeomin® reduce the appearance of these lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles that cause them. Some of our deepest creases, like those on the forehead or between the eyebrows, can disappear with these treatments.  How Do Dysport® and Xeomin® Work? Both of these products use a neurotoxin, botulinum A. When injected, they stop nerves from sending signals to the targeted facial muscles. The muscles do not receive signals to contract, so they stop pulling the skin into wrinkles. Without the tug of the muscles, your skin can relax and the lines and wrinkles will smooth away.  What are the Differences between Dysport® and Xeomin®? The primary difference [...]

What is the Difference Between Botox® and Xeomin®?

Botox® and Xeomin® are both neurotoxins. The medications are injected into the facial muscles to smooth over the effects of age. They are some of the most popular cosmetic procedures available in the US today. View More Patient Results *Individual results may vary What are Neurotoxins? Substances that alter the structure and function of the nervous system are referred to as neurotoxins. There are more than 1,000 chemicals that are known to have this impact in animals. The substances can either be man-made or found in natural chemical compounds.  Injectable neurotoxins are used by medical professionals to provide a variety of cosmetic and medical benefits to patients. The substances target the nervous system, disrupting the process that leads to muscle contraction stimulation.  Botox® VS Xeomin®: Differences There are various differences between Botox® and Xeomin® despite both being created from the same molecule. They are manufactured in different ways.  Xeomin® manufacturers purify the active ingredient so that it is separated from proteins. Studies suggest that Botox® may add proteins to [...]

How to Get Rid of Forehead Wrinkles

Forehead wrinkles are the earliest sign of aging for most of the population. They are usually brought on by repetitive facial expressions, making the skin wrinkle and slowly form deep lines. The more you frown, the deeper your lines will be. As you get older, the natural aging process also kicks in, enhancing the wrinkles and making you look a lot older.  While it can be hard to avoid forehead wrinkles, the good news is that you can treat them. Laser Skin Care Center carries a range of neurotoxins that are suitable for tackling this problem.  View More Patient Results *Individual results may vary About Neurotoxins Neurotoxins are injectable treatments that inject a micro amount of toxin into your body, disrupting the signals between muscle fibers and the brain. Effectively, this prevents the muscles from contracting, which can prevent and smooth wrinkles. While the idea of injecting a toxin into your body sounds dangerous, neurotoxin treatments are completely safe and have been FDA-approved for decades.  What Can Neurotoxins Target? [...]
