Kybella for Double Chin

KYBELLA® is an FDA approved treatment for adults to reduce fat beneath the chin. The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that helps in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, also known as submental fullness, KYBELLA® targets fat cells for removal.

You and your Laser Skin Care Center Physician will decide how many treatments you need. *Most patients need 1-3 KYBELLA® treatments.

Before receiving KYBELLA treatments, tell your Laser Skin Care Center provider about all of your medical conditions, including: have had or plan to have surgery on your face, neck, or chin; have had cosmetic treatments on your face, neck or chin; have had or have medical conditions in or near the neck area; have had or have trouble swallowing; have bleeding problems; are pregnant or plan to become pregnant; are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

You and your doctor will design a treatment plan tailored to help you improve your chin profile. During your treatment sessions, your provider will administer KYBELLA® into the fat under your chin using multiple injections.

Erase Your Double Chin With Kybella

Are you embarrassed or self-conscious about your double chin? Are you unable to reduce the appearance of your double chin through diet and exercise? Excess submental fat can be caused by a variety of factors, including aging, diet, and even genetics. It’s difficult to target fat loss in the chin area alone, which is why more patients are turning to Kybella injections.

*Kybella is the first FDA-approved injection designed to reduce fat cells beneath the chin. This one-of-a-kind treatment uses deoxycholic acid to break down fat cells, resulting in the reduction of submental fat tissue.

How Kybella Works

Kybella is a prescription treatment that’s used to treat moderate to severe fat tissue located beneath the chin. Kybella is administered through a series of injections; the total treatment time takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The number of injections you’ll need depends on the severity of the chin fat. Most patients won’t need more than six injections (each spaced one month apart) to see ideal results.*

There’s no downtime associated with the treatment; the most common side effects include swelling, bruising, and soreness at the injection site.

You should not undergo Kybella treatments if you’re pregnant, have or have had medical problems in the neck area, and are taking blood thinners. Ideal candidates will already follow a healthy lifestyle, as Kybella cannot prevent the formation of new fat cells.
