What is Dysport®?

Similar to Botox® and Xeomin®, Dysport® uses a neurotoxin to prohibit the communication of the nerves in the muscles of the face. When Dysport® silences the muscles, the communication stops and relaxes them, which helps to smooth over the appearance of deeper wrinkles.

What to Expect From Treatment With Dysport®?
Each Dysport® treatment takes around 15 minutes to complete. Sometimes a topical numbing agent can be applied before treatment to make you more comfortable. Dysport® is directly injected where the wrinkles are for the most optimal results. Results will take 2-5 days to appear on the face completely.
Regular treatment with Dysport® can prevent the future formation of wrinkles, as the muscles responsible for wrinkle formation are relaxed.
How Long Does Dysport® Last?
How long Dysport® lasts after your treatment depends on where you get the injection. Typically, Dysport® lasts up to five months.
Dysport® temporarily treats moderate to severe wrinkles. The effect will wear off after those five months and most patients commonly have treatments around twice a year.
Is There Any Downtime With Dysport®?
Because treatments are only 15 minutes long, patients with busy schedules find that Dysport® is an accessible treatment that can be done during their lunch break. There is minimal recovery time with Dysport® treatments. Patients may experience minor side effects such as swelling, redness at the injection site, or bruising, which typically resolve within 24 to 72 hours.
