Neurotoxin injectables are a highly sought after solution for many aging men and women. Designed for addressing deep, dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions, neurotoxins are the ideal option for patients that want a quick fix. Neurotoxins can also be beneficial for those seeking preventative anti-aging measures without any real downtime.

At Laser Skin Care Center, we offer several different neurotoxin-based injectables. While each has its advantages, the only real way to know which is right for you is through an in-person consultation. However, learning a bit more about the similarities and differences of each can help jump-start your decision-making process.

What Are My Neurotoxin Options?

There is a wide range of injectables that can help minimize visible signs of aging. Depending on your specific concerns, you may be better suited for one treatment over the other to reach your unique goals.

Botox

Botox is the world’s leading neurotoxin injectable. It has a variety of applications ranging from cosmetics to medical. The injectable works to temporarily block nerve signals to muscles. Botox is FDA-approved for crow’s feet, glabellar lines, and forehead lines.

Initial results can generally be seen in 3-5 days with an optimal outcome in about 2-weeks. Botox is one of the longest-lasting neurotoxins on the market. You can expect results to last anywhere from 4-6 months.

Dysport

Dysport uses the same active ingredient as Botox; botulinum toxin type A. This adaptable formula is slightly more spreadable, making it ideal for lots of smaller problems in a broad area. Dysport is FDA-approved for minimizing moderate to severe glabella lines and folds between the eyebrows.

Dysport is thought to take effect slightly sooner than Botox with visible results in about 2-3 days. Touch-up treatments might need to be done sooner with this injectable though. Dysport has been shown to last anywhere from 3-4 months.

Xeomin

Xeomin is a unique neurotoxin because the formulation only contains one active ingredient. That’s right, botulinum toxin A. Xeomin is considered a “pure-form” injectable that is ideal for men and women who have built up antibodies to Botox or Dysport. It is primarily used on the upper portion of the face to tame moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows.

Xeomin has the longest onset period. Most patients can expect no visible improvement until at least 4-days post-treatment. However, optimal outcomes are generally long-lasting, with most patients opting for maintenance appointments 3-4 times per year.

Injectable Consultations Available

What’s Right for You?

All three neurotoxin injectables have pros and cons associated with them. At the time of your initial consultation, your Laser Skin Care specialist will discuss all of your options more in-depth. Together, you can create a customized treatment plan to meet your short and long-term goals.

A friend recommended this practice. I went for fillers and botox. Super happy with the results and with the visit. Customer service is definitely a priority here. The office is clean, spacious and pretty. The reception and medical staff were efficient, nice and professional, answering all my questions and explaining everything. It took a few days to see my results. I look great and will definitely go back for other services.
