What is Microneedling?
At Laser Skin Care Center, we use a microneedling device with twelve sterile micro-needles. These enter the skin to create tiny areas of damage. The skin responds by immediately releasing healing factors that promote new skin growth, healing the tiny channels before you even notice them.
The treatment also triggers the skin to produce more collagen. As the protein that provides structural support and fullness to the skin, collagen can reduce many signs of aging and uneven skin tone. Collagen development can firm and tighten the skin, smooth out lines and wrinkles, and decrease the appearance of acne scars. It can also remove signs of sun damage and leave the skin looking brighter and more even.
What Types of Microneedling are Available?
People can enhance the results of their standard microneedling treatment by adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Microneedling with PRP results in faster healing, more collagen production, and more noticeable results.
We extract PRP from a small amount of your own blood and apply it to the treated area. The newly created micro-channels allow PRP to penetrate deep into the skin for a powerful healing effect. The platelets in PRP work to promote immediate healing while also instructing cells to enter a repair and rebuilding phase.

Is There Any Downtime with Microneedling?
You may notice some soreness and redness immediately after the procedure. This should go away by the next day, although you may still have some redness for a day or two.
Am I a Good Candidate for Microneedling?
Microneedling works well for most people. If you have an active skin condition such as psoriasis, this might not be the right treatment for you. We also do not recommend microneedling for pregnant women.
