What is Kybella®?

How Long Does Kybella® Swelling Last?
Kybella® causes swelling for many people. You can help control this swelling using ice packs and over-the-counter pain medications during the first few days. Sleeping with your head propped up for a few nights can also help control swelling. You can expect swelling to last up to a month, although it will fade noticeably after the first week. Other effects include bruising and hardness in the treated area, but these will also go away independently.
What Results Will I See With Kybella®?
Most people need one to three Kybella® treatments, although some may need up to six. We will space these a month apart, so the swelling has time to fade between treatments. The number of treatments depends on how much fat you will have removed and how you respond to Kybella®. As the swelling goes away and your body removes the damaged fat cells, you will see a sculpted chin and neckline emerge. Each treatment will reveal better results until you achieve your aesthetic goals.
How Long Will Kybella® Results Last?
The fat cells removed by Kybella® will not return. Your results will last as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle. The remaining fat cells in the area can still get larger if you have a significant weight change. Otherwise, you should expect your results to last indefinitely.
Is There Any Downtime With Kybella®?
You do not need any downtime after Kybella® treatment. You can go back to your usual activities. If you find that the swelling makes you self-conscious, you may want to take a few days to let the most noticeable swelling fade.
Am I a Good Candidate for Kybella®?
Most people make good candidates for Kybella®. If you have a double chin or submental fullness, Kybella® can help. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking blood thinners, you should not use Kybella®.
