What is Fraxel® for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Fraxel® Dual is an advanced form of laser skin resurfacing. Unlike most lasers, it uses two wavelengths, 1550nm and 1927nm, for better results. Fraxel® laser energy travels into the deeper layers of skin, triggering new collagen production and breaking up pigment particles. As a result, your skin looks smoother and more youthful.

What is a Fraxel® Laser Used For?

Fraxel® laser skin resurfacing can be used to address a wide range of skin concerns. Its dual wavelengths make it a flexible option for treating:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Dullness
  • Minor skin laxity

Fraxel® triggers cells called fibroblasts in your dermis to increase their collagen production. This new collagen smooths and firms your skin for a more even, youthful appearance. At the same time, it targets excess pigmentation to fade brown spots, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation.

Fraxel® Laser Consultations Available

How Many Fraxel® Treatments Will I Need?

The number of Fraxel® treatments needed depends on many factors. Deeper or more significant skin concerns will often require more treatment sessions. Most people need between two and five sessions to see their desired results. Your laser expert will discuss what you can expect during your consultation.

Your Fraxel® results will take a few months to develop fully. You can help them last longer by using sun protection and medical-grade skincare products that address your specific skin concerns. Your Laser Skin Care Center expert can help you choose the best skincare routine for your needs.

Is There Any Downtime After Fraxel®?

Fraxel® requires little to no downtime. Many people feel like they have a sunburn for several hours after treatment. This may be followed by a few days of dryness, and dark spots may darken before fading away. You can return to your usual activities after your session but avoid sun exposure to your treated skin.

Wonderful, professional and caring staff in a clean and up-to-date facility. In my many visits I have always been seen quickly, treated well by doctors and all staff and have always had great outcomes. I highly recommend this facility.
