Have you ever gotten a tattoo that you now regret? Maybe it’s a design you’ve outgrown or a name you no longer want to have inked on your body. Whatever the reason may be, laser tattoo removal is a popular and effective solution to get rid of unwanted tattoos.

What is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal is a non-invasive procedure that uses high-intensity laser beams to break down the pigment in a tattoo. The lasers target the ink particles in the skin, which then break down into smaller fragments that the body can naturally eliminate. This process is repeated several times over a series of sessions until the tattoo has faded or disappeared completely.

Benefits of Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal is usually considered the safest and most effective method to remove unwanted tattoos. Unlike other methods like dermabrasion or excision, laser tattoo removal doesn’t involve cutting or scraping the skin, meaning there’s minimal risk of scarring or infection. Additionally, laser tattoo removal is more precise and targeted than other methods, which means that only the tattooed area is affected.

Laser Skin Care Center uses the most advanced laser technology to provide safe, effective tattoo removal. Our laser tattoo removal treatments can eliminate or significantly fade almost any tattoo, no matter the color.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Laser tattoo removal is done with a Q-switched laser that uses specific wavelengths of light to target the tattoo pigment in the skin. The laser emits short bursts of light that pass through the skin and are absorbed by the ink particles. This causes the ink to break down into smaller fragments that your body’s immune system will naturally eliminate.

You may need multiple laser tattoo removal sessions for optimal results, depending on the size, color, and age of the tattoo. Patients typically need six to eight sessions for complete tattoo removal.

What to Expect During Laser Tattoo Removal

Your provider may apply a numbing cream before laser tattoo removal to minimize any discomfort, depending on your preferences and the location of the tattoo. During the treatment, you may feel a sensation similar to a rubber band snapping against your skin.

After the procedure, you may experience some redness, swelling, or blistering in the treated area, but this is temporary and should subside within a few days. You should apply ointment to the treated skin daily during this time.
