Belotero

Belotero is the new wrinkle filler that is considered the most versatile injectable treatment for fine lines. Belotero has unique properties that allow it to adapt within the skin for soft, smooth, and even correction of vertical lip lines and small lines around the eyes.

Integrative and adaptive are words used to describe Belotero as it is specially designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. The wrinkles and fine lines around your mouth, nose, and eyes will be smoother with natural-looking results after Belotero injectable treatment.

Belotero was developed in Switzerland by Anteis in 2005, a country best known for quality and precision. Approved by the FDA in November 2011, Belotero is part of the family of products by Merz Aesthetic, providers of Radiesse volumizing filler and Xeomin wrinkle relaxer.

Layering is often a technique used by dermatologists to get the best results for their patients. Deeper lines and folds are often treated with Juvederm, Restylane, or Radiesse first as they provide a larger volume to fill in the area. The unique structure of Belotero makes it the ideal “top layer filler” for superficial wrinkles.

How Does Belotero Work?

Belotero is made of a natural substance called hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a natural component found in the skin. HA has the capacity to bind to water which plumps and fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction.

How Is The Treatment Performed?

Belotero dermal filler is injected into the skin in a quick and simple procedure using a fine gauge needle.

How Soon Can I Expect Results?*

The results are immediate upon injection. Belotero plumps the skin and smoothes away lines and wrinkles.

How Long Does Belotero Last?*

Belotero lasts roughly 3-6 months or more depending on the individual and the areas that have been treated. Most patients do opt for follow-up treatments to maintain that smooth, youthful appearance.

How Long Is The Recovery Time?*

There is very little to no downtime associated with a Belotero treatment. In fact, most patients return to their normal daily activities right after their visit. Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site, but these side effects typically resolve on their own within a few hours or days depending on your sensitivity.

All injectables at this dermatology practice are performed by our board-certified dermatologists.
