Is psoriasis making you miserable and affecting your quality of life.  If so, you would probably like to know what treatments are available for psoriasis, and if it’s possible to find long-term relief.  There is currently no cure for psoriasis, but it is possible to bring it under control and reduce flares.

At Laser Skin Care Center, we use the innovative Xtrac laser to treat psoriasis.  Xtrac is a type of excimer laser that uses concentrated ultraviolet (UV) light, to provide relief from the symptoms of psoriasis.

Xtrac has been scientifically tested and proven in several studies, as an effective technology for reducing psoriasis symptoms.  It is cleared by the FDA for treating psoriasis and endorsed by the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Long Beach Psoriasis

What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder characterized by raised patches of dry, itchy, scaly skin, that appear in varying shapes and sizes.  The condition occurs when skin cells multiply rapidly and accumulate on the surface of the skin. The excess patches of skin are known as ‘plaques.’

Psoriasis can affect different areas of the body, but it typically shows up on the elbows, scalp, knees, arms, and back.

Xtrac Laser Therapy for Psoriasis

Xtrac laser therapy can be used to reduce the length and severity of psoriasis outbreaks.

The Xtrac laser emits a focused beam of light that penetrates the skin, and targets the psoriasis plaques.  The high doses of UV light effectively clear away the plaques, without affecting the surrounding healthy skin.  The treatment is generally painless.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

You will need approximately 10-12 Xtrac laser sessions to effectively reduce the symptoms of psoriasis.
