Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that treats varicose veins and spider veins. It involves injecting chemicals into damaged veins. The veins then collapse, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades.
